Deliveroo, but make it Maritime. Part 1…

Because apparently having four ice cream shops wasn’t enough… we’ve now taken to the high seas.
During Fowey Regatta, we loaded up the cool box, jumped aboard and set off on Ruby’s first ever ice cream delivery by boat. ⛵️

The mission? Find some scoop-hungry sailors and deliver ice cream on the water.

Turns out there are few things better than a scoop of Cornish ice cream delivered directly to your boat in the middle of Fowey Harbour.

Practical? Questionable.
Necessary? Absolutely.
Did we find any willing scoop sailors? Part 2 will tell… 👀

(Spoiler: things got a little chaotic.)

We had such a lovely story shared from our Newquay parlour this week, and it felt too special not to share. ❤️

A customer came in with her family for milkshakes and, after having some trouble getting her card payment to go through, was told everything had been sorted.

It was only after she left that she discovered what had really happened — another lady in the parlour had quietly paid for their treats and asked to remain anonymous.

No fuss. No recognition wanted. Just one person doing something kind for another. 🥹

The customer later shared how much that simple gesture meant to her and her family, particularly after they’d been having a difficult time lately.

So, to the lovely lady who quietly paid it forward, wherever you are, big love from all of us at Ruby’s. ❤️

And to everyone involved, thank you for reminding us what a wonderful community we have here in Newquay.

Sometimes the smallest acts of kindness can mean far more than we realise. 🍦✨
