Impressive interactions with two local Formby businesses today! Firstly, Silver & Rose Opticians & Audiology rescued our weekend - I was worried about a family member who had sudden new hearing loss, and they fitted them in for a next-day hearing test, which thankfully was reassuring and ruled out a serious cause. I've praised Silver & Rose before - like us, they're a small independent business, which means they offer a personal service and really seem to care about their patients.

The private GP market is getting busier, and some bigger organisations do offer private medical services - but in our opinion, there's a lot to be gained by using a local independent business! Unlike most of our competitors, we are a small family-owned company. We don't have external investors to keep happy - which means we aren't under pressure to sacrifice our principles for the sake of the bottom line. Formby GP is our main priority, so we put our service and our patients first - we open five days a week normally, and arrange locum cover while we are away because we want to ensure you can still see a doctor when we're not there. And, because our regular GPs (Heather and John) own the business, we get to know our patients well and are happy to go above and beyond to offer good care.

The second business we enjoyed interacting with today was The Harington - the children's football practice was cancelled due to the rain, so we went for brunch instead. Cara loved the waffles with chocolate sauce!

We've currently got good availability every day next week, so if you want to see a GP and would rather have the convenience of private care - longer appointments, face-to-face as default, easy booking online or by phone - do pay us a visit.
