Oh hi everyone! Long time no post again huh!? π€¦πΌββοΈπ€£ This post popped up on my news feed and I had to share it... I had a fondant wedding cake being collected last week, being stored at the venue ready for the next day. I've never been so worried about a cake. It couldn't easily be stored in the fridge, as the condensation as it came to room temperature could destroy the delicate fondant flowers, but this melting could happen underneath the fondant if kept out. π Summer is the stuff of nightmares for us bakers, at the best of times, but last week was unreal. Luckily, the venue had cold storage, so the cake survived fine, and I had a lovely time in the sun and pool once it had been collected π Any other crazy people like me that could happily sit out in 36 degree heat forever?!? I loved it π
This is why so many bakers delayed or cancelled orders during this heatwave.
In just two hours at 36Β°C, a buttercream cake can go from perfect to melting. Now imagine that cake sitting in a hot delivery van for hours.
Weβd rather delay an order than send out something we know wonβt arrive looking its best. Your cake deserves better than that. β€οΈ
