Janes Fishguard

Janes Fishguard Wool, craft and coffee shop. Secluded peaceful garden - entrance through wool shop. Dog friendly. Takeaway Segafredo coffee. Dogs are welcome in the garden.

Janes of Fishguard is the unique combination of a modern wool, craft and contemporary coffee shop. Stop off and have a bite to eat, enjoy a refreshing beverage and browse our extensive range of knitting yarns, crafts, beads, jewellery making supplies and haberdashery. The coffee shop is deceptively spacious; the front room leads into the back coffee shop and open plan kitchen, and continues into t

he garden. The rear garden is a place of tranquillity and is a hidden gem for garden lovers. The garden is designed around the pond and water feature and is becoming an attraction in itself as it develops over the seasons; a corner of the garden is left wild for the birds to enjoy (and us to enjoy them). On a lovely sunny day we feel it’s a real treat for the senses to sit, relax and listen to the trickle of the pond and the birds chirping in the background. Next to this is our vegetable patch, which provides ideal growing conditions for the berries and vegetables that we harvest for the coffee shop. Fishguard and surrounding places such as St Davids (St David’s Cathedral) are ideal locations for day trips if you are visiting Pembrokeshire. Right on our doorstep Fishguard has stunning walks around the Marine Walk and up to the Old Fort overlooking Lower Fishguard. Within the town itself, Fishguard has a Leisure Centre and the Town Hall houses the library, market, Tourist Information Centre and is home to the Last Invasion Tapestry, which tells the story of the last French invasion in 1797. The coast and countryside around Fishguard is perfect for walking, bird watching, dolphin and whale watching, fishing, sailing and a host of other outdoor pursuits. Stena Line at Fishguard Harbour sails to Rosslare Ireland.

From garden to table. So many varieties of tomatoes, red, yellow and orange, and different shapes and sizes. Nice to eat a tomato that tastes like a tomato. One of our favourites is the sweetheart cherry.

Thankfully, gooseberries and redcurrants already picked.

It’s going to be a bumper crop of blackberries this year.

What a beautiful day in our tranquil natural garden.

How many people still don’t know we have a garden?

Home made carrot cake, delicious.
