In early April we had two professional Surfers at the house for a week. This week (late May) we have some well qualified climbers here for the sea stacks.

Its been Sunny with scattered showers and pretty windy this week but that did not stop them ascending the Old Man of Hoy.

“Hi Simon. We have climbed Yesnaby Castle, The Old Man of Hoy, and the False Stack at Yesnaby, as well as a few other cliff routes at Yesnaby.

We love your cottage. It was perfect for us. Hope to come back another time. KT.”

Great guests to have and setting the bar pretty high for action!

Welcome to the Orkney Crofts page. We are here to promote Turriedale as a holiday home destination. If you are looking for Orkney accommodation for 2025 you are lucky as we have been offline since last autumn rebuilding our digital presence. The new Website and Airbnb pages ard now fully functional and we are once again fully bookable online.

As a result right now we have a mainly clear calendar through most of 2025 so should be able to still find you a good slot.

Turriedale has been welcoming visitors to Orkney since 2008 so we are one of the longest established self catering businesses in Orkney. We have been 4 star rated and Gold Award environmental winners for many years. Since the pandemic and the reduction in size of our parent company we now choose to simply offer you the most comfortable and relaxing home for your Orkney Holiday that we can.
