It’s our last Summer Fun Quiz of the year tomorrow night, Thursday, at 7pm!!! It’s the final second Thursday of the month before the clocks go back and the quiz returns to Sundays. Today is the last Friday of the month so we have the truly magnificent Magic Steve & Magic Rob joining us, with special guest Magic Scott, for an incomparable evening of magical mastery. They’ll wander around the bar tables performing close up magic that really is incredible. They are members of The Magic Circle and regularly bring other Magicians with them too. They start about 8.30 for 9pm, so make an evening of it tonight, come for a pizza, have a drink or two and settle in for an amazing evening of wonderment 🎩🐰🍕🥂🍺💃🕺🏼

This Thursday is the last of the month so it’s Women’s Night here at The Lion. From 7pm I’m encouraging all you fabulous women here abouts to come along and meet up with other fabulous women. It’s a really easy, casual evening where we take over the top bar and just chat. And laugh. And maybe put the world to rights a little bit.
I’m really lucky as landlady in that I get to meet so many brilliant women here, but generally in a pub women don’t get to meet each other. I’m doing what I can to correct that. Come along on Thursday and you’ll see how lovely it can be 😊

Today’s ‘Strands’ in the NYT Wordle is Talk Like A Pirate (sorry, spoiler). I think this is quite a big thing. As you may be aware, today is ‘International Talk Like A Pirate Day’ and here at The Lion we’ll be spending it in the company of the incredibly credible ‘Captain Jack’, aboard his magnificent Galleon, ‘The Lady Tenacity’. Come along on Bank Holiday Monday for a joyous afternoon of live music in the garden courtesy of the glorious Cult of Ffynche. The weather is due to be kind so we’ll have the fabulous BBQ burgers outside in addition to our delicious pizzas.
The music is due to kick off about 2.30pm and continue into the evening.

Happy Bank Holiday Weekend 😀 The Finchingfield Lion hope you have a wonderful long weekend and look forward to welcoming you to our annual Hullabaloo on Monday. This is always such a glorious day, with families and friends settling in for the afternoon, eating, drinking and listening to the most marvellous Cult of Ffynch musicians. Bring a chair, bring a blanket (hopefully you won't need a brolly) and we will relax and celebrate our wondrous summer.
