🎉𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐔𝐋𝐓𝐒 𝐀𝐑𝐄 𝐈𝐍! 🎉

A huge thank you to everyone who took the time to share their views on our Exhibitor Policy.

We sent our survey to 400+ Exhibitors, Patrons and Trade visitors, and received 125 responses — an encouraging response rate of around 31%. 🙌

And the results speak for themselves:

🐟 92% agree with our existing policy that anyone who owns a koi dealership should not exhibit at the National.

🐟 74% agree that people working within the koi trade should not exhibit at the National.

🇬🇧 79% believe the National Koi Show should remain open to UK hobbyists only.

𝐒𝐨, 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧?
With such strong support for the current policy — alongside the feedback we've received from this year's Exhibitors, Trades and Patrons — we will not be looking to make any changes to our Exhibitor Policy for the forthcoming year.

Your feedback matters, and it plays an important role in helping us ensure that the National Koi Show continues to reflect the views, interests and values of the hobby.

📣𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐊𝐨𝐢 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐃𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 📣

We're moving the National Koi Show from its traditional late-June slot to the 𝐒𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐤𝐞𝐧𝐝 (𝟐𝟗𝐭𝐡-𝟑𝟎𝐭𝐡 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟕).

This decision follows the extreme heat we've experienced in recent years, including UKHSA Red Heat-Health Alerts and exceptionally high temperatures, which created challenging conditions for both the koi and the volunteers, exhibitors, traders and staff who work hard to make the show happen.

We want to be upfront that this isn't a guaranteed solution. UK weather is unpredictable, and no date can completely rule out extreme conditions. However, based on what we've experienced over the past two years, we believe this gives us the best chance of avoiding the issues we've all faced.

The National Koi Show has always been known as an outdoor event, and we're committed to keeping it that way. We hope you'll support us as we make this change and look forward to welcoming you to the 𝟒𝟕𝐭𝐡 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐊𝐨𝐢 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐨𝐧 𝟐𝟗𝐭𝐡-𝟑𝟎𝐭𝐡 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟕.

The National Koi Show would like to give a big thank you to FD KOI FOOD , Japan and Jeroen van Stokkom for supporting the show and providing a bag of FD koi food for all the Exhibitors that brought their fantastic koi to the National.

Following a review, the National Koi Show Committee has confirmed that the Baby Champion entry at this year's National Koi Show did not meet the eligibility requirements set out in Rule 11.2.3 of the 2022 KPG Show Rules & Guidelines.

This rule requires that an exhibitor's koi must have been resident in their home pond for a minimum of 30 days prior to the show. This requirement was also communicated to all exhibitors by email on 3 June, ahead of the event.

As a result, the Baby Champion award has been revoked. The exhibitor has been informed, and the award will not be reallocated.

The Committee would like to place on record its sincere thanks to the exhibitor for their honesty and openness throughout the review. It is clear that this was an innocent mistake, which has unfortunately led to an outcome that neither the exhibitor nor the Committee would have wished.

However, the Committee has a responsibility to apply the rules consistently. Failing to enforce the 30-day requirement would be unfair to other exhibitors and could undermine the integrity of the competition in future years.
