Celebrating literary heritage, local history and meaningful connections this Halloween.

Hotel Coco Felixstowe and Felixstowe Book Festival will host a special one-off social and networking event celebrating Felixstowe’s rich literary heritage.
Bringing together literature, local history, ghost stories and conversation, the evening offers an opportunity to connect with fellow book lovers, writers, professionals and members of the local community in a distinctive seaside setting.

At the centre of the event is M. R. James, one of the most influential figures in English ghost-story writing.

📚 Guest author: Darryl Jones – For the Dead Remember

We’re pleased to feature Darryl Jones, author of For the Dead Remember, the first full biography exploring the life of M. R. James and the man behind his enduring ghost stories.

Your ticket includes:

A welcome cocktail, with alcoholic and non-alcoholic options
A selection of table nibbles
An evening of literary discussion, local heritage and networking
Welcome drinks: Apple & Pear Spritz, Pomegranate Fizz or Strawberry Lemonade.
