Croft Street Fisheries is a family run traditional fish and chip takeaway located in Farsley near Leeds. We are a multi award winning business and take pride in the quality of our food and customer service. Here at Croft Street Fisheries we believe in using only the finest ingredients to create our award winning fish and chips, and we strive to inform our customers of the provenance of these raw m

aterials. All of the haddock we sell is caught aboard Icelandic fishing trawlers and is Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) certified and we only use the highest grade chipping potatoes. We hold 5 stars in the hygiene rating from Leeds city council and we are also holders of the Quality Award from the National Federation of Fish Friers.

It’s that time of year again! We’ve switched over to new potatoes, and they’re only around for a short season.

They’re naturally softer, creamier, and packed with flavour – and they’re already proving to be a firm favourite with our staff. In fact, they’re everyone’s first choice purely because they taste so good!

What a difference a year makes! 👏

Last year we completely transformed our downstairs storage area here at Croft Street Fisheries.

It had served us well for years, but it was tired, worn out and constantly needing repairs. As with any renovation, the job took much longer than planned, with everything from the electrics to the plasterboard being replaced.

A year on, it’s easy to take it for granted… until you look back at the before photo. We’re still really pleased with the result! 💙

We know because we’re standing behind fryers that are approximately the same temperature as the surface of the sun.

So, with the greatest respect, if you come in and say:

🗣️ “It’s a bit warm behind there, isn’t it?”

🗣️ “Cor, it’s hot today!”

…you may be at risk of being battered. 🐟😂

We’re incredibly proud of our little fish and chip shop.

As the only fish and chip shop in the village, it means a lot to be here week in, week out, serving award-winning food to our community. What makes us smile is that people are often amazed when they see just how small we are — and even more amazed by what we manage to achieve from this little shop.

It’s proof that size isn’t everything. Hard work, passion, consistency, and the support of our amazing customers are what make the difference.

⭐ We’re delighted to share that we’ve once again been awarded the NFFF Fish & Chip Quality Accreditation! ⭐

Some of you may have already seen the news featured recently in the West Leeds Dispatch, but we wanted to take a moment to say just how proud we are to have received this recognition again.

This award reflects the hard work, care and attention that goes into everything we do – from the quality of the ingredients we use to the standards we maintain every single day. We’re passionate about serving the very best fish and chips possible, and it’s fantastic to have that recognised.

Most importantly, we’d like to say a huge thank you to all of our customers. Your continued support means everything to us. Seeing familiar faces come through the door week after week is what keeps us motivated, and it’s incredibly rewarding to know that you’re enjoying the food we work so hard to produce.
