SHE’S GONE 😭
Something is different around here, and we need to talk about it.
If you have visited Higher Ground then there’s a high chance you’ll have met Emily. Even if you haven’t, you’ll have experienced the warm atmosphere that she created. That feeling of belonging, community and comfort is something that she built, right from the start of Higher Ground.
But nothing lasts for ever. A month ago Emily chose to say goodbye to pursue a different career altogether (not another cafe phew!).
Emily has been instrumental in the success of Higher Ground, both by being the face of it and by holding everything together behind the scenes, being truly heroic at times.
So this is to say, thank you, Emily, for the impact you’ve made on my life and thousands of others by giving yourself to Higher Ground for the last year and a bit.
You will be truly missed.
Of course, you’ll completely smash the next part as you embark on a new career, just as I know that Aidan will smash the next chapter of Higher Ground.
Many of you will know Aidan already, another main-character of the cafe, known for his Spoon Museum and fully committing to the Barista aesthetic.
Aidan has picked up the mantle from Emily and is already killing it. And together with the rest of our amazing team, we’ll still be there to welcome you with the same great service (and great coffee) you’re used to.
