It’s 6am Monday morning…

and Ive just met Angie the cleaner coming in to work as I was heading upstairs to bed. I’m tiered but buzzing and am feeling rather emotionally charged….

I’d just like to take a moment to say a huge thank you to every single person who joined us at The Snow Goose Pub this morning. And of course my amazing team who smashed it!!

As I stood and looked around over the last few hours, I honestly felt incredibly proud. You stuck out the delays and pushed through.

The atmosphere for the England, Mexico game was nothing short of amazing. The singing, the cheers, the passion and the pride shown in our country was a sight to behold.

Looking around and seeing so many familiar faces, alongside some new ones, all united behind England, genuinely gave me goosebumps.

People often ask me what makes The Snow Goose special and why I still do this, and this morning was the perfect example.

It isn’t the building, the food or even the football. It’s the people. It’s every single one of you who walks through our doors, brings your personality, supports one another and creates an atmosphere that simply can’t be manufactured.

Beasaured As the owner, I never take that for granted.

I want to Thank you for choosing to spend your morning with us. Thank you for singing your hearts out, celebrating together, then keeping your voices down out of respect of my neighbours when you stepped outside for some fresh air, despite being absolutely caught up in the adrenaline of the match at that time, and for totally reminding me exactly why I fell in love with this industry 37 years ago as I watched a group of adults, families literally embracing one common “Goal”!!.

Moments like today are so much more than football. They remind us that community still matters, that people still come together, and that for a few wonderful hours we can all stand side by side, proud of our team, proud of our country and this makes me proud of this little pub.

I couldn’t be prouder of what was created together this morning.

Anyway, I’m off to Bedfordshire to dream of the next stages for England 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼⚽️♥️⚽️… so excited!!

Being an independent pub, sometimes you do what you’ve got to do, with what you’ve got and diversify from what you usually do.

Having just had a new patio laid in the family garden, which we absolutely love and was long overdue, thank you so much Delboy…. You’re the best and an absolute legend !!🏅

But with a stunning new patio our old fence and gate desperately needed some TLC or really replacing but funds have been tight.

But following a little emotional chat to Mechelle about it, she challenged herself to unlock a new skill!!

And there you have it, the girl got it done 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻!!! Your Mum, Dad amd family would be sooooo impressed with you Mechelle 💗

Shes never turned her hand to it before and in 2 days she’s made this, awesome fence and gate, from scratch!!!

The kids are safe again and it looks amazing 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

💙For the dads who are there every day, quietly fixing, teaching, listening, protecting and loving, often without ever asking for recognition.

💙For the dads we miss, whose advice still echoes in our minds, whose jokes still make us smile, and whose love never really leaves us.

💙For the stepdads, grandads, uncles, brothers, family friends and father figures who chose to show up, proving that being a Dad isn’t just about biology it’s about presence, patience and unconditional love. 💙💙💙

💙For the men who have become fathers through kindness, consistency and simply being there when someone needed them most.

💗And for the mums who had to be both Mum and Dad, carrying the weight of two roles, finding strength they never knew they had, wiping away their own tears so their children never had to see them. You deserve every bit of recognition too.💗
