🩵⚽️ ELLIE’S MEMORIAL FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT ⚽️🩵

What a brilliant day we had yesterday at Ellie’s memorial football tournament. 🥹🩷

Now… we may not have won a single game 😂 but every single one of us put our heart and soul into it for our girl, and that’s what mattered 🥰

A massive thank you to Scott and the Central Ladies team for all your support and for hosting such a special day. It was honestly so lovely to see everyone come together to remember Ellie through something she loved so much — football. ⚽️🩵

A huge thank you to every single one of our players who took part, including those who jumped in at the last minute to help us out. We genuinely couldn’t have done it without you! 🥹👏

And a special shoutout to our Players of the Match — Wendy Wright & Sarah Whitfield 🏆🩷 You both absolutely smashed it and deserve a huge well done! 👏⚽️

Also a huge thank you to our coach Stephen Dunlop who gave up his time to train the girls, we know it wasn’t an easy job 🤣 but what a team we ended up with 🩵

And of course, a massive thank you to all the other teams who took part and showed us nothing but kindness on the pitch… especially for taking it easy on us and kindly allowing us a few goals 😂😂 We know you could’ve absolutely battered us, so we appreciate you letting us have our wee moments of glory! 🥹⚽️Your sportsmanship, support and good humour made the day even more special — although we’re pretty sure some of you were just feeling sorry for us! 😂🩷

We might not be footballers… and our results definitely proved that 😂… but we gave it everything we had, had plenty of laughs, and most importantly, we got to spend the day remembering our girl 🩵

Ellie was at the heart of it all, and we hope she was looking down yesterday with that big smile of hers. 🥹🤍

💙 This Weekend 💙

There will be no fixture for Central Ladies this weekend as we come together to take part in the Ellie Murray Memorial Tournament.

It’s a day that means so much to everyone at our club—a chance to remember Ellie, celebrate her life, and honour the incredible person she was. Her smile, kindness and love for the game will never be forgotten, and she continues to hold a special place in all our hearts.

We’re proud to be part of a day that brings family, friends and the football community together in her memory.

We’ll see you all there as we remember Ellie and celebrate her legacy. 💙🦋

🩷 For Our Ellie 🩷

This Saturday, 8th August, the incredible ladies at Central Ladies are hosting a memorial football tournament in honour of our beautiful Ellie.

Here at The Roman Bar, we’ve put together a team made up of our staff and customers to take part. Now, we’ll be the first to admit… we’re definitely not football players 🤣⚽… but that’s not what this day is about.

We’re pulling on our boots for one reason only… our girl. 🩷

Every donation, no matter how big or small, will make a real difference. All proceeds from the tournament will go to the Ellie Murray Football School, helping to provide free football sessions every Friday for young people, giving more children the chance to learn, play and fall in love with the game just as Ellie did.

The funds will also help Central Ladies continue to grow the club and create even more opportunities for girls and women in football.

If you’re able to support this amazing cause, we’d be so grateful. Every pound helps keep Ellie’s legacy alive and creates opportunities for the next generation.

🚽 TOILET UPDATE… AGAIN! 🚽

Well… today’s excitement came in the form of a visit from the council after someone reported our toilet situation.

Thankfully, we had absolutely nothing to hide.

As we’ve said from day one, we’ve been completely open and honest about the issues we’re facing. We’ve posted updates on our page, we’ve put notices around the pub, and we’ve provided alternative toilet facilities while we continue to chase the problem.

We understand the temporary arrangements won’t suit everyone—and that’s absolutely okay. If you’re not comfortable using the facilities available, we completely respect that and understand if you choose to visit another time once everything is back to normal.

What doesn’t help is trying to have a local business shut down when we’re doing everything we possibly can to resolve an issue that’s completely out of our hands.

We’d much rather spend our days pulling pints than explaining toilets. 🤣🍻

Thanks to everyone who’s been patient, understanding and continued to support us while we get this sorted. We appreciate you all more than you know. 🩵

🚨 IMPORTANT NOTICE – LADIES TOILETS CLOSED 🚨

Unfortunately, our ladies toilets are currently CLOSED.

Trust us when we say we’ve done absolutely everything we can to get this sorted, but the issue is now completely out of our hands and needs work that’s beyond what we can do ourselves.

To make sure everyone still has access to toilet facilities, we’ve temporarily separated the gents toilets to accommodate our female customers. We completely understand this isn’t ideal, and it may not be everyone’s preferred arrangement, but for now it’s the only option we have.

If you’re planning on joining us this weekend, please be aware that the ladies toilets are completely out of bounds.

The temporary ladies section within the gents will be monitored throughout the day and night to ensure everyone’s privacy and safety.

We’d also like to ask for a little understanding towards our staff. This situation isn’t their fault, and they’re doing their best to manage things. If you’re not comfortable with the temporary arrangement, please don’t take it out on the team or decide to use the closed ladies toilets instead.

Unfortunately, despite the toilets being clearly marked as out of order over the last few weeks, they have continued to be used, which has only made the problem worse and delayed repairs.

We know it’s not the news anyone wants before a busy weekend, and we’re just as frustrated as you are. We’re working as hard as we can to get everything back to normal as soon as possible.
