Get creative at Callendar House at our Pegdoll Workshop

Join artist Tessa Asquith-Lamb for a nostalgic morning making tiny peg dolls from old fashioned clothes pegs, and then dressing them beautifully in flights of fancy using lovely ribbons and fabric and silk flower petals. We will even add paper fortunes of good wishes and embossed metal wings.
Will make beautiful gifts or decorations for the festive season.

Get creative at Callendar House with our beginners guide to Lino printing with artist P J Scott.

Saturday 26th September 10am -4pm (Lunchbreak 1-2pm) Ages 18+ £55

Lino is a beautiful way to introduce yourself to reduction printing and those attending the class can expect to learn how to produce at least a two-colour reduction print, in the same style as Bryan Angus’ work.

Peter Scott the artist and teacher delivering the workshop has over 20 years teaching experience and is a proficient multimedia artist.

You will be given a bank of images to choose from and learn the technique, being taken through the class step by step going at your own pace. The class is primarily aimed at beginners, however all levels are welcome. Please bring a packed lunch.

This workshop explores 3 important figures in the Celtic and Roman pantheon of myth - Epona, Minerva/Brigit and Coventina.
These 3 archetypes cover a good deal of women's practical and spiritual lives c100-300 in the local are between Dumyat and the Antonine by Falkirk, from wisewoman, warrior to horse woman. Costumed dancers will create slow moving poses offering a unique insight into the imagination and mythology of the time, inspiring creativity as you draw.

Unfortunately, our lift is currently out of order.

We’ve had an engineer out to take a look and the problem has now been identified. Unfortunately, it’s going to take a little time to get the necessary repair carried out, so the lift will be unavailable for the time being.

We’re really sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, especially for customers who rely on the lift for accessibility. We know how important it is and we’re doing everything we can to get it back up and running as soon as possible.

We’ll keep you updated as soon as we have any more information.

There's a lot Roman on at Callendar House.

There’s someone new in the Roman Gallery at Callendar House!

This cheeky chappy is a Roman face pot, found during excavations at the fort at Camelon in the 1970s. These strange, characterful vessels were sometimes used to hold the ashes of the dead, but we don’t really know what the face represents – gods, emperors, the deceased or the person who commissioned it? Come and visit to make your own mind up!
