I’m feeling incredibly proud today….

La Mar has been named Best Fine Dining Restaurant in Devon at this year’s Food Drink Devon Awards.

Sometimes when you’re caught up in the everyday madness of hospitality, you forget to stop and look at what you’ve actually achieved.

With Charlie leading our kitchen, Monika overseeing front of house and a brilliant team behind them, La Mar has become something really special.

An AA Rosette, Food Drink Devon Gold and now Best Fine Dining Restaurant in Devon.

To everyone who has supported our little restaurant, thank you. We couldn’t do any of this without you.

From a little restaurant above the marina in Exmouth to being named Best Fine Dining Restaurant in Devon.

Our Chef’s Table menu continues with some beautiful dishes from the kitchen — from pan-fried hake with squash & Manchego arancini, braised fennel and mussel & saffron beurre blanc, to wild venison with butternut squash fondant, cabbage & bacon and a rich port & chocolate jus.

And for those who love a La Mar classic, our market fish is served with sesame triple-cooked chips, Asian salad, miso mayo and spicy pea fritters.

✨ We’re hiring at La Mar! ✨

We’re looking for a part-time waiter/waitress to join our small, friendly team at La Mar.

Weekend availability is essential. Experience in a similar restaurant environment would be wonderful, but it isn’t a must — we’re more than happy to train the right person from the beginning.

If you’re passionate about hospitality, enjoy looking after people and have a great eye for detail, we’d love to hear from you.
