This week, Exeter’s celebrating the Class of ‘26.
We’re celebrating too. If you’ve just graduated—or you’re here to cheer someone who has—your drink’s on us. Show us your graduation invite or a selfie from the ceremony, and we’ll get you something cold or hot (up to £5). You’ve earned it.

We’re also hunting for something: what song got you through your degree?

Post a photo of your drink to Stories, use the music sticker to add your song, and tag us. We’re building the Class of ‘26 playlist from your answers. We’ll share the best ones daily.

A few moments from this week in our little corner of Exeter 💛

Well that was another busy one!

We kicked off with a few cheeky staff drinks after our monthly team meeting (bonus points if you can name where we went). The Sew Social crew were back for their monthly creative meetup—always lovely seeing the space filled with creativity and conversation.

Bingo Starr was back for its second outing! Prizes ranged from a packet of crisps to bottles of wine and unlimited coffees.
Huge thanks to everyone who came down and helped make it such a fun evening.

Friday night brought Old Red Stone, and what a show it was. Beautiful songwriting, stunning arrangements—our particular favourite was their take on a Moorish traditional with harmonies they’d made entirely their own. That’s the kind of gig that reminds us why we do this.

Saturday afternoon saw John Bongo behind the decks, followed by Chesca and Dixie’s leaving bash in the evening. Come down and help us give them the send-off they deserve.

And Sunday? Our very first pop-up market, The Sunday Dig. Huge thanks to the Ciao Bella girls for coming down, and to everyone who popped by and picked up a pre-loved gem.

This all happens because of you. Our community makes it possible. Thank you for being part of what we’re building. 💛

TEAM SHOUTOUT 💛
Today, we’re saying goodbye to two wonderful members of Team 12 Bar — Chesca and Dixie.

You might not know this, but they were both “headhunted”, so to speak. They first came into 12 Bar as customers, made such a brilliant impression, and were exactly the kind of people we knew we wanted as part of our team.

Chesca has combined serving killer coffees — we’re really going to miss those swans — with her passion and talent for events. As our Events Coordinator and later Events Manager, she has played a huge part in shaping the live music programme at 12 Bar, bringing an incredible range of musicians and events through our doors.

We hope you’ll agree that she has done a wonderful job. As she relocates out of Devon, we wish her every success with whatever comes next. We’re going to miss you, Chesca. 💛

Dixie has such a special energy. Although she has only been part of the team for six months, she has made a massive impact — helping us achieve our five-star food hygiene rating, getting involved with DJ events, bringing endless enthusiasm to every shift and becoming a hugely valued part of the 12 Bar family.

Despite our best efforts to convince her to stay in Exeter — and despite the spiders — she is heading off to Australia. We’re very sad to see you go, Dixie, but we hope you have the most incredible adventure. 🇦🇺

Chesca and Dixie aren’t just fantastic team members — they’re genuinely brilliant and inspiring people. We wish you both every success and can’t wait to follow your adventures and see what you decide to do next.

Thank you for everything you have done to help make 12 Bar the special place it is today.
