🚨 JUST ANNOUNCED: BOARDS OF CANADA — HI SCORES

This is a big one.

To celebrate its 30th anniversary, Boards of Canada’s landmark Hi Scores EP is returning to vinyl for the first time since 2014—and we’ve managed to secure just 10 copies for 12 Bar.

Originally released by Skam in 1996, this was Boards of Canada’s first widely available release and contains some of their most enduring music, including “Turquoise Hexagon Sun” and “Everything You Do Is a Balloon.”
The new edition marks its first release on Warp Records and comes on black vinyl in a gatefold 12” sleeve with four full-size art prints.

If this one has been missing from your collection, we wouldn’t hang around—only ten vinyl copies are available from us.

🌒 FRIDAY 25 SEPTEMBER — ANTONÍ
Poetic folk meets orchestral art-pop as Berlin-based songwriter ANTONÍ brings her debut album to 12 Bar.

Blending chamber pop, jazz and cinematic electronics, her music moves from whisper-quiet intimacy to richly layered arrangements—hypnotic, atmospheric and made for close listening.

🌀 SATURDAY 26 SEPTEMBER — KING HERON
Bristol’s King Heron return with their brilliantly distinctive collision of nu-jazz, hard-edged grooves and math-rock-infused improvisation.

Wonky, nerdy and unapologetically their own, this is a trio at their best onstage—taking the music somewhere different every time they play.

🪩 SUNDAY 27 SEPTEMBER — DEEPER WITH DJ SPIDER
Drawing on 40 years of serious record collecting, Exeter DJ Spider of Wax The Van takes over 12 Bar from 12–4pm.

Expect Afro-Latin soul, disco, jazz-funk and deep house across a proper four-hour journey—because some records need room to breathe.

Four days. Four completely different ways to spend time at 12 Bar.

- we will be heading off at 10.30 so make sure to arrive with 5-10 mins to spare! I’ll be hanging around from 10 :)
- the run will be a 5km loop, very chill pace, beginner friendly!
- all runners get a deal in the cafe: 1 hot drink + either a cookie or pastel de nata for £5
