Inspired by our view that the park acts as a kind of 'community glue' we have a growing vision that see a community cafe running in the park. As active users of Heavitree Pleasure Ground we see the potential for this to support bringing together the community in and around the park.

📣 ART in the PARK 📣

We have a new exhibition up for September and October featuring work from local artist sophiecolemandesigns

Sophie’s work is a celebration of everything she loves about the sea and coastal living! And when she’s not painting the sea she’s swimming or sailing in it! 💙

Sophie likes to work with water colours, acrylics, crayons, inks, collage and screen printing and particularly loves creating textile designs. You can order any of Sophie’s printed fabric directly from her. Details avaliable at Park Cafe!

You can also see more of Sophie’s work at Devon Open Studios in Topsham between 12th-20th September.

One week to go!!
Park Life Fun Day 2026 🤗

Join us between 11am-6pm for live music, children’s entertainment, demonstrations, local interest stalls and makers and food and drink.

There’s always a wonderful community atmosphere with all ages coming together 💚

Next Tuesday 25th August, we have Heavitree artist Hannah Oram joining us for a guided session to make your own vase of flowers collage!

This is open to all ages from 5+.
The session will run from 2-4pm in Park Hub. Expect a couple hours of creativity, chat and community 🥰

Children must be accompanied by an adult. There is a suggested £5 donation to cover materials.

There are 40 spaces available so we suggest booking early to avoid missing out!

Games in the Park this Friday from 2-4pm!

Join us for two hours of fun and games together 🤗

The perfect way to spend a Friday afternoon, especially if you don’t have plans in place yet and want to get the kids out and burning off energy!

Children must be accompanied by an adult. This event is free. All welcome!

This is suitable for children under 10. Bring a picnic and your Teddy bear friends and join us for a story and fun together in the sunshine ☀️

Coming up this month! ☀️

We’ve programmed a summer of fun Fridays for kids, starting this week!

So if you’re free and wondering how to entertain the kids and get them outside, then look no further.

This Friday 7th August between 2-4pm we’re kicking off with a Treasure Hunt. Collect your sheet from Park Hub and follow the clues to win prizes.

No booking required. £1 per entry. Children must be supervised by an adult.

What an amazing evening we had last night celebrating our Lunch For Life project.
Our Lunch for Life project collaborates with Refugee South Devon to provide a bi weekly pop up kitchen at Parklife Hub that enables families to cook their favourite recipes in order to enjoy the food with their loved ones.
Three amazing chefs from the project cooked wonderful dishes from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka for our guests to enjoy. It was a real treat! 🤩
We also had Flamenco dancers to entertain us all with their fabulous music and moves. 💃🏻

A truly magical evening that brought community together and raised funds to maintain our L4L project.

Further ways to support L4L:
Bring in any tins of tomatoes, chick peas, lentils, tomatoe puree,cooking oil, spices and leave in the blue bucket in PL cafe.
One off monetary donation or monthly via our website.
Volunteer at the sessions.

Tomorrow is our monthly Chatty and Crafty Tuesday session!
Join us for a creative couple of hours over a hot cuppa.
Finish a project you’ve already got on the go or select an activity from the selection available.

Join us for our next Lunch 4 Life Celebration Evening!

This will be our fourth event featuring cuisine from around the world, cooked by the asylum seekers living locally that attend our monthly Lunch 4 Life group.

This next event will take place on Saturday 1st August at Park Hub from 7-10pm.

Tickets cost £25 per head and include a delicious Asian feast as well as live music.

So invite your friends, book your space and join us for a fabulous evening of food, fun and friendship!

Happy Birthday Terry 🎉

We had a wonderful morning this week celebrating a much loved member of our Park Life Seniors Group who’s recently turned 90!

Cake and conversation in the shade of Park Hub gardens was a lovely way to mark the occasion and show Terry how treasured he is!
