๐ Things are changing at Embers. ๐
Last Wednesday was not only a momentous one for people who enjoy celestial alignment, but it was also a significant one for us as a business, as it was the last day that we had our full summer squad working together for the 2026 season.
It's hard to believe that we are approaching the waning half of August already, and on reflection this year has been pretty much a non stop pizza shaped blur, punctuated by the odd (and often too short) hiatus. Our crew have worked for the most part, relentlessly.
The heat in the kitchen this season has been on another level, as has the footfall. It has in short, been extremely demanding.
But the efficiency and resilience (again, for the most part) that we've been able to match all this with is something I'm immensely proud of, and I am immensely proud of my team who have been fundamental in helping the business grow to the stage it's at now.
Boys, you have been excellent. You have it all thrown at you this summer but have properly grafted on, and handled it like absolute professionals. Please know that when I was getting grizzly towards the end its only because I knew this time was approaching and I was going to miss working with you.
What does this mean for Embers now? Well, for now, operations are going to have to scale back a bit as the kitchen reverts back to having only one person in it. 'Reservations Only' is likely the direction of travel, as fewer covers means we can ensure high standards throughout service. I'm still figuring this part out, but when I've got it cracked I'll be sure to communicate it clearly on our website www.emberswoodfired.co.uk
Massive thank you to everyone who has stopped through this summer; it's not over yet but the times they are a changing.
