🏗️ AN UPDATE FROM BEHIND THE SCENES… 🏗️

Although our doors are currently closed, there’s plenty happening behind the scenes as we work towards an extensive refurbishment of the pub.

Our architect is currently working closely with the Heritage Team at the local council to develop plans that will give the building the attention it deserves.
As you can imagine with a building of this character, it’s important that everything is done properly. Our aim is to respect and preserve its heritage and original character, while carefully bringing the pub up to date and creating a fantastic venue for the future.

There’s still plenty of work to be done before we can reveal the full plans, but we’re really excited about what’s being developed.

We know lots of people are wondering what’s happening, so we’ll keep you updated as things progress — and as soon as we’re able to share more, you’ll be the first to see it!

GOOD AFTERNOON!

There’s been quite a few posts lately asking what’s happening with The Townhouse

So here’s a little update:

🔥 NO we have not permanently closed
🔥 YES we are still having a refurb and reopening
🔥 WHEN unfortunately no further forward in releasing an opening date
🔥 WHY because we are hoping to make lots of big changes that take careful consideration, planning, consulting and time
🔥 WHAT are we doing? That’s still under wraps but what we can tell you is it will be worth the wait

THANK YOU for your patience but we promise we will bring you a townhouse you can love as much as the old one and more!

WHAT’S HAPPENING?

We’ve had a few messages and comments wondering what’s happening with the townhouse so I thought we best update you!

The honest answer is there’s not much to tell right now,

Are we still doing a refurb? Yes
Do we have an opening date yet? No

It’s a grade 2 listed building and a part of Ely’s history, there’s a lot to consider and it needs to be done right

All we can say is we look forward to bringing you something special in the future!

⚠️ WE HAVE GOT SOME NEWS ⚠️

You may have already heard but it’s now official, this Sunday will be our last day of trading before closing for a refurb, we will keep you updated with a reopening date as soon as we get close!

You’ve probably already noticed lots of changes happening the last couple of weeks but there’s lots more we want to do that we can’t do whilst still open. What are we doing? Well that would ruin the surprise so you’ll just have to keep an eye out for updates on the big relaunch date in the near future!

However it does mean we want to finish the weekend on a high and that means drinks deals! So come on down Saturday and Sunday and see what bargains you might be able to find including Pinot Grigio and Sauvignon Blanc for just £3 a glass!
