Elphin Tearooms

Elphin Tearooms Homemade cakes, scones, soups & quiche, amazing coffee & tea, with stunning views and a warm welcome. Small progress to date, but we have big plans!

We are a small family owned cafe serving home made cakes, scones (and other sweet things), soup and sandwiches plus quality coffee, tea and hot chocolate. We will have a range of locally made arts and crafts available for purchase as well as information about the surrounding areas. We are also developing the croft land around the Tearooms to provide produce and products for the Tearooms.

We've got some fantastic stuff in the farmshop at the moment, including amazing apricots from right here on the croft (in the polytunnel!) and delicious red and green gooseberries from our neighbour just down the road. We've restocked the meat freezer, and are getting a restock of incredible, locally made (Ullapool) Pickleboxx pickles today. Get in quick if you want the fruit... the rest of it we can keep stocked up but once the fruit is gone, you'll have to wait until next year!

Our local Highland Games, Assynt Highland Games, is on soon - Friday 14th August, in Lochinver. A big event leading up to the Games is the Raft Race, on Saturday 8th August at 5:30pm (for a 6pm start). If you want to be involved, but don't know where or how to start, there are people willing to help, and materials set aside to help those who need them. Get in touch, and get started building your perfect raft for an epic raft race!

Full details of the raft race (incl rules, and who to contact for help!) can be found here: https://www.assynthighlandgames.co.uk/raft-race

One of our customers left a jacket with us on Monday, early afternoon. We think it was a gentleman from around Glencoe area, staying at the Caley in Ullapool for a night, then a couple of nights in Coigach somewhere (but we could be wrong!!). We would very much like to get this jacket back to its owner, so if you hear someone lamenting the loss of this jacket, please ask them to get in touch (or just drop in).

Also, to the people who were looking for eagles this week... I saw them this morning. Just a couple of days too late!

We will be closed on Thursday 18th June.
Apologies for any inconvenience (and for the short notice)

We survived the storm with electricity and internet intact, which means we will be open today as planned, and taking card payments (as well as cash) as usual. It's looking quite lovely at the moment, although I expect the day will be filled with "wintery showers" (somewhat romantically named... less pleasant in reality!). Take it easy out there, and pop in if you need some homemade hot food or a "coffee and cake" excuse to get out of the car and shelter somewhere warm.
We also have one table outside for those hardy souls who want to experience every second of the delightful spring weather.

We are open today!!
but we are understaffed... so be patient with us! We've still got the fire going, hot soup, fresh scones, handmade cakes and the all-important teas and coffees.
And the Elphin Wednesday Market is on too, for their first market of the season, so you can stop in and browse some lovely local goodies there as well.

We are re-opening this week, on Wednesday 1st April. The weather forecast is not looking great, but we'll have the fire on, lots of hot soup, and our brand new grinder will be helping us make incredibly smooth coffees to keep you warm and buzzing. (Personally, I'm also looking forward to my first scone of the year... fresh from the oven at 11am on Wednesday!!)
We'll be open every day over Easter, 11am to 4pm, then will be switching to 5 days a week - Sunday to Thursday (closed Fri/Sat).
