Starbucks Open Mic Strabucks Open Mic Night On the second Thursday of the month 1730-1930/2000 there is Lots of Local Talent,Good Laughs,Good Music and Good Times.

Starbucks Open Mic NightEvery thursday Night 6.30-8.30 pm.Set up and Hosted By Local Musicians Blair Mcleod and Jon Arbuthnott when he is back up north. The Open mic was ran by Blair Mcleod for well over 18 months now and Blair Has had to pass the role on to young talented local musician Stewart Mcleod.This Open mic is the only one open to all walks of life young and old.

So for the first time since December 2020 we would like to welcome everyone back and apologise for the long and drawn out hiatus. Both covid and personal health issues with our host Blair made this open mic night very much impossible in 2020 2021 and then when things were getting back to normal in 2022 illness again made the open mic night not take place.

We’re beginning to talk about the possibility of running this again and haveing all the familiar faces back and even welcoming in a new generation of regular faces too!

Let us know in the comments who would turn up to this should it run again also I would t be the guy who says they would go and never do ha ha! This night is only possible with the regular performers turning up and giving us a great show and providing a great community for other performers too both new and experienced.

Anyway we’re just in small whispers of talks right now to get this back up and running but like shame and comment this post and the page and let’s see if we can provide Elgin with what was for a long time it’s only open mic and now will be it’s only all abilities and all ages open mic night.

I’ve had a few messages in the last few days concerning the open mic night and weather it will be on again before the year is out or what is happening now that live music is again allowed in venues.

Here’s the score

We haven’t had an open mic night since March and I know a few of you are itching to get back on it and come down again to perform and it’s great to see!

The permed is in Elgin is not listed as a venue nor has the licence descript to be held as a venue either. For instance drummonds cafe in Aberdeen is a bar attached to a venue and somewhere like Starbucks in Elgin is at first a coffee shop with the occasional venue one night a month. So this premed is will only be allowed to play background music for the forseeable and somewhere that is a venue can now host open mics and bands etc etc.

If the time and situation arises that Starbucks in Elgin gets the go ahead to host its small acoustic night once again the acts will unfortunately have to be pre booked in and advertised as such. Plus the amount of people in the audience will be limited too. It’ll be a trying and thought time to navigate but when we come to that bridge I’ll be the first to tell everyone how we’re going to cross it and what is the safest way to do that at that given time.

Hope this clear up any questions some of you may have regarding the open mic and when it will be back on again!

I do miss you all very much and hope the time comes again when we can all get together and have a few songs and laughs again soon!
