🇭🇺 A little history of the Dobos Torte:
The Dobos Torte was created in 1885 by Hungarian pastry chef József C. Dobos. It was designed to be a cake that would last longer than other pastries of the time, thanks to its buttercream and caramel topping. It soon became one of Hungary’s most famous desserts and remains a beloved European classic to this day. 🍰♥️🤍💚🍰

My name is Kiki, and I’m a Hungarian living in Edinburgh for over 20 years. Opening Kiki’s Café was a dream come true, and now I’m so proud to bring you something truly special and very close to my heart:

Traditional Hungarian Goulash Soup 🥣 🇭🇺 🥣 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

This is not just any soup — this is one of Hungary’s most famous and beloved dishes, made the traditional way with tender (halal) beef, rich smoked paprika, vegetables, and deep, comforting flavour in every spoonful.

What makes it even more special?
As far as I know, Kiki’s is the only place in Edinburgh — and one of only very few places in Scotland — where you can enjoy authentic traditional Hungarian goulash soup.
