We currently have a wee treat on the bar from Strangers Brewing - Bramble Pie.
This 4.8% farmhouse-style saison is brewed using Perthshire blackberries, giving a fruity tartness and a purple haze to the beer.
Bramble Pie is gluten-free but has added lactose sugar for a slight creaminess, meaning the beer is not vegan.

Great to see some of our favourite Scottish brewers getting fantastic recognition at the Scottish Indie Beers Awards in Edinburgh recently.
We're particularly pleased that Loch Lomond Brewery did so well, since their beers are always well received when we have them on the bar at The Regent. Cheers everyone!

The brewer took home 12 Gold medals and was Overall Champion of the Cask Beer Competition for its Bravehop beer

We are currently showcasing ales from Strangers Brewing in Linlithgow.
On the bar at the moment is "New Shoots", a 4.8% West Coast IPA bursting with citrus flavours. The addition of locally-foraged conifer tips adds a slight pine flavour.

The event is free, kicking off at 8pm and is open to everyone. Come along and say hi - they're a friendly bunch!
If you can't make the Saturday evening, there is a Leathermen Scotland Sunday Social in the pub the following day, starting at 4pm.

As a wee experiment, we decided to grow our own hop plant in the pub window this year.
Meet "Fuggles", nestling quite nicely in one of the windows in the back room.
Hops love having their head in the sun and their roots in the shade so it's unlikely it will be happy in it's position and won't flower, though it's still alive at the moment.
Fuggles is a traditional British hop variety that's been used in beer production for over 150 years. It doesn't have the intense citrus or fruit-led flavours of modern hops but still serves as a solid backbone for many modern ales.
