Since my last post, I can finally say that I did it — I climbed Ben Nevis yesterday in honour of Jim💛
And honestly, it was the most amazing hike I’ve done this year.
The weather was absolutely incredible, everything seemed to fall perfectly into place, and there was a feeling throughout the whole day that the universe had somehow aligned everything exactly as it was meant to be.
There was something very special about being up there, surrounded by such incredible scenery, knowing that I was doing it to honour someone who has been such an important part of my life for the past 16 years.
But there was another little moment during the hike that made the day even more memorable.
On the way up, we met Michael, who was climbing Ben Nevis for the very first time. What immediately caught my attention was that while the rest of us were fully geared up in hiking boots, layers and all the usual equipment, Michael was casually making his way up the mountain wearing a beautiful kilt and flip-flops !!
Of course, I couldn’t let the opportunity pass without saying hello, and, as I often do when my heart tells me to, I took out my little camera and captured the moment.
It was so lovely to stop and chat with him. His energy was genuinely beautiful, and there was something quite magical about the aura he carried with him.
Then, when he told me that he had lived in India for many years, that really became the highlight of my trek. 🇮🇳
Of course, I had to tell Michael all about Himalaya Café, and I really hope that he and his wife will visit one day soon. Sometimes the most unexpected encounters happen when we’re simply following our instincts and allowing life to unfold.
And finally, I just want to say another massive thank you to everyone who was so incredibly generous to Jim. 🙏
Thanks to all of your kindness and support, Jim has reached his fundraising target and will be able to go and see his idol, Bob Dylan, in concert.
He is absolutely delighted and so excited about the whole thing !!
What started with a simple wish to help a friend has turned into something much bigger — a beautiful reminder of friendship, community, kindness, resilience and the incredible things that can happen when people come together.
Yesterday wasn't just a hike up a mountain.
It was a day filled with love, friendship, unexpected connections, beautiful energy and a little bit of magic. ✨
And somehow, I think the universe knew exactly what it was doing🌸🌸
