This huge tree cake was for the amazing charity Treebourne who were celebrating in Sevenoaks park last weekend. We were absolutely honoured to be asked to make this fantastic cake for them!

This was quite possibly the largest cake board we have ever had to use! It was actually a large sheet of MDF in the end as they don't make cake boards this big!! Ollie did point out that we shouldn't make it too large that it wouldn't fit through the front door (it was a very valid point!!) As it was, we squeezed it through with an inch or so on each side 🤣

When we talk about the size of cakes we say "an 8" round cake" or a "10" round". Now, if you look at those lengths on a ruler or even a flat round disk, it always seems like your cake will be quite small.

But when they are made in real life they are suddenly so much more than the length on the ruler.

This one is a 12" cake, which if you hold up a ruler still doesn't seem that big- but just look at the size of this beauty!! And it's always heavier than you think it's going to be, as well 😃

We love getting messages like this; it makes it all worth while 🩵

We just wanted to send you a note thanking you for how fantastic the cakes were- both the main wedding cake and the fruit cake.

We fortunately managed to both get a slice of the chocolate and the lemon but otherwise it was completely gone! Something I’ve never seen at a wedding - our guests were thrilled with the fact that they were gluten-free given how delicious they both were.
The fruit cake has subsequently had rave reviews with our families whom we’ve shared it around with.

Thanks for your help and delivering a great sweet end to our day!
