❤️ THE STEVE HALLIDAY MEMORIAL CUP – THIS YEAR, WE’RE PLAYING FOR LIAM ❤️

Over the last couple of years, the Steve Halliday Memorial Cup has brought so many people together. In Steve’s memory, our friends, customers and community helped us raise an incredible amount of money for causes close to our hearts.

This year, we’re asking that amazing community to come together again, for Liam Brickley and his family.

Liam is a local lad, a barber at The Spot, and someone who has always done his bit for the community. He’s also a good friend of Ash, who is a friend and neighbour to Emma, Jeff and all of us at The Phoenix.

Recently, Liam was diagnosed with a rare form of leukaemia called APL and has already been through his second course of chemotherapy.

He’s a dad to his stepson and, with a new baby due in the next couple of months, this should be one of the most exciting times for his family. Instead, they’re dealing with something no family ever expects to face.

So this year, we want to use Steve’s Memorial Cup to do what it was created to do, bring people together and make a difference.

There might be two teams on the pitch, but that day we're all on Liam's side. ❤️

We saw just how generous this town was for Steve, and we'd love to do it again, this time to help Liam and his family through an incredibly difficult period.

🎉🏇 JEFF’S 50TH BIRTHDAY RACE NIGHT! 🏇🎉

Well, the day has finally arrived… Jeff is 50 TODAY and officially an antique! 😭😂
Half a century old and somehow still allowed behind a bar! 🍺👴

So tonight (saturday night) we’re celebrating properly with Jeff’s 50th Birthday Race Night! 🐎🎂

There’ll be ridiculous horse names, plenty of laughs, a few questionable bets and no doubt plenty of reminders that Jeff is now officially an antique. 😂

But jokes aside, The Phoenix has been a massive part of Jeff’s life, and over the years so many customers have become genuine friends. ❤️

So it would mean a lot to have as many of you there as possible to raise a glass, have a laugh and celebrate the big 5️⃣0️⃣ with him.
