Support students at The Sand Project - Host a trainee!

Host a trainee on work experience with this supported programme that connects local businesses with young talent. It’s a great way to help individuals build confidence, independence and real-world skills, while bringing fresh energy and an extra pair of hands into your team.

The programme is designed to be simple and flexible:

✔️ All admin is handled, from matching trainees to setting objectives and completing paperwork.
✔️ Support is available with risk assessments to make hosting straightforward.
✔️ A job coach can be on-site each day to support both the trainee and your team.
✔️ Placements are tailored to suit your business, typically one day a week for at least a month.

If a regular placement isn’t possible, you can opt for a one-day visit with a small group of trainees to showcase your business. The scheme has already been successfully delivered with a range of local employers across sectors including retail, hospitality, printing and theatre.
