An 8'' luscious lemon cake covered in white chocolate ganache and sugarpaste and decorated with edible lace and a spray of handmade roses, sweet peas, filler flowers and leaves for a special 90th birthday.

These are some decorated cookies I made and took to a ScreenPop networking meeting this morning. The first box were for Alan who ran the group but is now leaving to concentrate on recovering from recent illness and the second box was my prop won by Russell.
If anyone who was not at the meeting can tell me what the significance is between the second box of cookies and today’s date and follows/likes my page and shares this post I will make you a box of cookies for you to collect later this week. First person to contact me wins.

My final order for last week were 24 Jellycat themed cupcakes for a baby shower. Each topper was handmade so completely edible and took a total of 5 hours to colour some of the sugarpaste, make them and assemble on the sugarpaste disc before making the cupcakes.

The 2nd of this weeks cakes is an 8'' lemon sponge with a 6'' rich fruit cake on top for Dave and Cyns diamond wedding anniversary. The cake was decorated with hand made sugar roses and diamond side design. An amazing 60 years together. I don't get to make a cake for such a special celebration very often so it was a real honour.

First of this weeks cakes was my annual gifted cake to St Giles Prom. I always look forward to finding out the theme each year and this years didn't disappoint. They always choose a wicked theme, excuse the pun. The amazing cake topper was from Doodlelooloodesigns

Hello! And what a beautiful Friday it is ☀️🕶️ Although I’ve spent most of it in the kitchen! 😆🎂

Just something I’d like to mention, as it’s coming up more and more in my inbox…

I’ve had quite a few enquiries recently from people who are comparing quotes (which is absolutely fine) or looking for the cheapest cake available. I completely understand that everyone has a budget, and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that.

That said, if price is your main deciding factor, I’m probably not the right cake maker for you.

I don’t base my business on being the cheapest. My pricing reflects the time, skill and dedication behind every cake, years of experience, high-quality ingredients, and the attention to detail that goes into creating a bespoke design.

If you do have a budget, please don’t hesitate to tell me. I’m always happy to suggest a design that works within it if I can and if I feel I can’t offer what you’re looking for, I’ll gladly recommend another talented local baker who may be a better fit.

A custom cake is much more than flour, sugar and buttercream. You’re paying for creativity, craftsmanship, experience and the many hours that go into making something truly special.

I’ve been very quiet on here as we have been on the most amazing holiday to Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe, Chobe national park and the Okavango Delta in Botswana. Here are a few of my husbands amazing photos that some of my followers may like to see even if they are not cake related.
