Re-posting this to clarify the passing reference to 'Tea Cup Tuesday' and why it's always accompanied with an 'All Welcome'.
Initially set up by the wonderful Carolyn C, Tea Cup Tuesday is a group of people who meet on - you guessed it - Tuesdays at 2:30pm for tea, cake and company at Quaich. You don't have to be on your own, but if you are, this group was set up with you in mind - it's a really easy gathering to join... simply rock up, pull up a chair and be welcome.
Tea and cake will set you back a fiver (though the group is known to cause absolute havoc at the till as its members are constantly trying to pay for each other!).
And if you know of someone in the village who is on their own, maybe someone who has been widowed or whose pals have moved away, it's also an easy group to try out and to which to bring a guest. It'll cost you an hour (maybe less) of your time to bring someone, but we all know that it's easier to 'go with' the first time you do anything. After the first visit it all gets a bit easier.
So let me encourage you to bring that neighbour or that relative that you worry about because they live on their own - and if you are at a loose end yourself come and join Tea Cup Tuesday.
Such a lovely bunch of people... David will back me up in that!
