Only 24 hours to go until the Summer Bike Meet at The Old Dunnings Mill! Why do we need celebrities when we’ve got our very own Wallis and Top of the Town legends? Danny Tugwell, veteran of one of the most legendary police chases of the 1970s, the only man who knew all the police dogs by name and still a fantastic wheelie merchant. Nigel “Nutty” Bradford, once met, never forgotten, an iconic character, brilliant rider and owner of some of the cleanest bikes you’ll ever see. Then there’s Joe “The Harley Man” Taylor, although these days he’s gone a little bit plastic BMW German! Always riding, always touring and still with the spirit of a young man.
Richard Capel, ever loyal, always on his Triumph and rarely missing a Top of the Town ride, summer party or social event. Colin “Jock” Sloman, a proper Harley man who always looks the part. Clive, the original Pin Man, still getting up on Sundays and taking the Top of the Town Bikers out whenever needed. Not forgetting Keith Skinner and Pete Doughty, two more proper bike men and familiar faces from over the years. And, of course, our very own superstar Bruno, loved by absolutely everyone! If you haven’t met him yet, make sure you do because he’s guaranteed to leave a lasting impression. A true Top of the Town character and a proper legend! 😂🏍️ Proper characters, lifelong friends and more than 50 years of biking memories between us. If I’ve forgotten anyone, I’m genuinely sorry. It certainly isn’t intentional, but otherwise we’d be here all night listing names! Come down and say hello to some of the friendliest bikers you’ll ever meet.
I’ll probably be there from around 4pm, but come down whenever suits you. Bring your bike, enjoy the Tar Babies live from 6pm, the BBQ, free entry, free motorcycle parking and plenty of proper biker banter. Even the weather is playing its part at a cool 26 degrees, which will feel almost freezing compared with what we’ve had! 😂 Even if you can only make it for 10 or 15 minutes, get off the sofa and get your bums down to The Old Dunnings Mill tomorrow. This is one you really don’t want to miss! And I’ll be bringing my girl 🫶🏍️
