We’re still aiming for an October reopening and our Facebook followers will be the first to find out when we have a date to share 💚

In the meantime, Hazel has been busy behind the scenes preparing our new Winter Menu and we think you’re going to love what’s coming.

We’ve got three brand-new winter warmers joining the menu:

🥔 Deep-filled jacket potatoes with a warming chilli
🥪 Hot roast sandwiches
🥣 And your favourite hearty vegetable broth

So, while we can’t quite welcome you back to the Willow Café just yet, we hope the thought of what’s coming keeps you warm in the meantime!

October… we’re counting down! 💚

💚Update from Willow Burn Hospice & the Willows Café💚

We’d like to let our wonderful supporters know about some upcoming changes at Willow Burn over the summer which will impact the Willows Café.

Willow Burn Hospice is rightly recognised as one of the best hospices in the country for its design, the quality of its buildings and the beautiful environment surrounding it. However, to ensure that the high standards are maintained, we will be undergoing a period of refurbishment works from mid-July. The work is expected to last for approximately 10 weeks, running through to mid-October.

The work will largely take place in the Sir Tom Cowie Health and Wellbeing Centre but unfortunately this means the The Willows Café and Potting Shed Gift Shop will be closed during this period from 16 July at 2.30pm

This has been a difficult decision as we know it is a much-loved community hub, however the safety of our visitors must be a priority. Please keep an eye out on this page for pop up Willows events.

Our Gardens Remain Open
Our beautiful hospice gardens will stay open throughout for quiet reflection and relaxation. Throughout the summer, our gardens will also host:
• Memories in Bloom from 20 July
• Communities in Focus Exhibition : Sons and Daughters of Leadgate

Please feel free to bring your own coffee, take a stroll and enjoy these peaceful spaces.

Our other services will operate as follows:
💚The Helen McArdle In-Patient Wing will continue to operate as usual for patients and their visitors.
💚Day Services will temporarily move to Shotley Bridge Hospice.
💚Counselling Services will temporarily move to Lanchester Community Centre
💚Reception will remain open for general support/hospice enquiries, donations and volunteer enquiries.

Thank you for your continued support and understanding, it truly means so much.
