SFMF RAISES £10.5k 🎉
Another record breaking year for the event 👏

We brought our eighth year to the LiveArgyll Queens Hall last Saturday, transforming the venue into our ‘Day Of The Dead’ theme and raising an incredible amount of money for charity.
The festival has now raised £55k for charity since we started 🙌

This year the funds will be shared between Scotland's Charity Air Ambulance - SCAA, Dunoon and Cowal Blood Cancer Branch, Castle House Museum, Pumpkin & Friends Charity 1199484 and the Stay Fresh Youth Group Fund.
We’re also lucky to be helping out some more smaller causes that will be announced at a later date.

Performers this year featured amazing sets from ROK, Robbie Mctaggart music, Liam Somerville and The Streetlight Band, Skelp , Toast, SOAP and The Stay Fresh Supergroup, who brought the night to a close.

The event would not be possible without the outstanding financial generosity of local sponsors, we’d like to say a huge thank you to all of whom that sponsored this year.

We’d like to also extend a huge thank you to all of our volunteers who manned the stalls and tickets, who helped be floor marshals and organise our tombola and raffle. Thank you to the team who manned our sponsors area and ensured they were well looked after. We have such a dedicated team that comes back every year hungry to help.
A big mention for our sound and lighting crew, Duncan and Graeme who literally bring the stage to life.

After a very busy week, we'd like to take this opportunity to say thanks to all those lovely customers, both locals and visitors who have supported our wee business during our 25th Cowal Gathering week at The 51st State & La Cantina...it means a lot! 😊😊😊

Thanks also to our terrific team of staff who smiled and worked really hard to make it happen, Toast for their excellent Friday Night Live Gig as always, Robert Carmichael for his epic marathon performance on Saturday, Billy and PJ for their toe tapping and smiley faces and of course Kirkcaldy and District Pipe Band who took a detour from the March past to pay us another visit. Here's a wee taster of their superb in-house performance with us on Saturday evening. 🎵🎤🎸🎵🎤🎸

Finally for nearly 20 years we've sponsored the Most Entertaining Band Competition Prize money at Cowal. We're delighted to hear that Dunoon's own Dunoon Grammar School Pipe Band won the prize this year. Congratulations. 🏆🎵😊🏆🎵😊

COWAL SATURDAY AT THE 51ST STATE

We would like to wish everyone a very happy and successful 2026 Cowal Highland Gathering - good luck to all the competitors!

We're open for food and serving until around 8pm.

We're not taking any bookings today however, we're operating a walk-in service only in La Cantina - first come, first served!

We've operating our Cowal menu for the day which hosts a number of our favourites from our regular main menu. Our Gluten Free, Vegan and Kids menus are still available.

Our Cowal menu also hosts two special dishes for the weekend including Steak Pie and Chicken Curry 😋
