Shawarma Chronicles, Vol. 56: Itching to get back 🤪

We’re back here at Gatehouse tonight, serving 4:30pm-7:30pm, and boy do we have a treat for you!!

Slow Cooked Galloway Lamb Shoulder, served with butternut squash, lentils, feta and butter beans, in Murray’s words “this special is awfy special” 👀

Castle Douglas tomorrow, then a big day out west at Second Sands for lunch on Saturday and Garlieston for dinner!!

So we have decided we’re going to run a MONTHLY competition!! Here’s how it works…

Have a look at the menu in the comments and tell us EXACTLY what your order is, it can be a wrap, rice box or loaded fries. Make sure you include exactly what sauce, salad & pickles you like too!

We will choose one winner to become our special dish for October🌯
This means, you’re chosen combination will be displayed and available for people to order at the trailer (bonus points if you give it a fun name), you’ll also win ONE of your special meals on us in the month of October!

GUESS WHAT?? WE’RE BACK🚨
We are well rested, and ready to kick off the rest of the year with a busy week.

Thursday at our usual spot in Gatehouse of Fleet, Friday takes us back to the Market in Castle Douglas and Saturday is a double service for us!

Two chances to grab some food from us in the West. We’ll be serving breakfast rolls from 10 until 12 on Saturday down at the Second Sands beach, along side our friends at MHÒR bringing you some delicious pours from 9am-2.30pm. From 12-2 we’ll be serving our normal menu, so a Bossman Breakfast and Lunch could be on the cards 👀

Then a quick drive down to Garlieston to serve 4pm-7:30pm, we sold out last time so get down nice and early for that one!🔥

Stranraer Oyster Festival Round Up! 🦪

Now that we’ve fully recovered, we wanted to round off a brilliant weekend with a few pictures we managed to grab between the busy spells!

The Oyster Festival was always a target for us, marking the end of our first summer of trading. We’ve certainly learned a lot along the way (reversing? Not so much 😂), but we’ve had the absolute best time bringing Bossman to new events, towns and places that have supported us from the start.

All the hard work has paid off, and we’re excited to keep things going through the Autumn and Winter before gearing up for another busy Summer next year! ☀️

So, a massive thank you to everyone who has made it down to see us over the summer, it’s been class. The events we’ve been part of have been so much fun, and we’ve made some great friends along the way💙

Shawarma Chronicles, Vol. 54: Two mugs in a shot ☕️

It’s day 3 of the Stranraer Oyster Festival and we are scunnert. BUT we’re here, the breakfast rolls and flying out and the lovely people of Stranraer are keeping our spirits up 🦪

It’s a gorgeous day at the harbour, plenty to see for everyone, come down and see us, and guess what? There’s a competition in this video 🤪

The further West we went, the more Murray began to lose the plot, so enjoy this one🤣

We’re set up and excited to get started down in Stranraer for the Stranraer Oyster Festival 2026🦪

We’ve established Murray doesn’t like oysters, but he does like kebabs and we’ve got loads of them🔥

What would a shawarma wrap or rice box be without a generous amount of delicious homemade Bossman sauce?

You’re always asking us what sauces we have, so we thought we’d break it down for you:
• Garlic Toum - Punchy & creamy
• Pomegranate Molasses - Sweet & tangy
• Chilli & Harissa - Smoky & spicy
• Tahini Mint Yoghurt - Cool & creamy

Our choice?
Murray loves Garlic Toum + Pomegranate Molasses, very traditional
Beth keeps it spicy with her favourites, Chilli & Harissa + Garlic Toum
