Can't wait to host the exceptional Biff Smith as well as local legends Hugh Mcmillan and David Neilson plus an open mic session. All free entry 😄

Biff Smith is a prominent Scottish singer-songwriter, lyricist, and award-winning spoken word artist based in Glasgow. He is best known as the charismatic frontman of the orchestral indie-pop band A New International (formerly known as The Starlets). In recent years, he has achieved massive acclaim on the international poetry slam circuit.

Smith initially began performing poetry simply because he liked "the idea of not having to carry a guitar" to gigs. This side project rapidly turned into an award-winning literary pursuit:Major Titles: He won the 2025 Scottish National Poetry Slam and went on to claim the 2025 World Poetry Slam Championship in Paris.Critical Acclaim: His celebrated poem "Dumbarton East"—a tender, bittersweet ode to a missing train station—was shortlisted for the prestigious Forward Prizes for Poetry.Published Works: Long joking about his extensive collection of rejection letters, his debut poetry chapbook is set for publication via Stewed Rhubarb Press.

Reminder you can get your tickets for Hidden Gem Festival at the coach today but we are a free venue for the open mic and a set from Michael Grant with John Edwards from 3 onwards.
Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult and are more than welcome to get up n give us a few songs.
We will have a full PA, electric drum kit and spare guitars or bring your weird and wonderful instruments for those that fancy a wee slot 🎸
