📚What a fantastic Reading Festival! 📚

What a brilliant two days of books, creativity, community and fun! 🎉

We kicked things off on Friday afternoon in collaboration with Dronfield Library, with a wonderful arts & crafts session.
A huge thank you to all the children and parents who joined us to make colourful bookmarks, paint pebbles and get creative with book covers! 🎨📖

Friday evening saw us host a thought-provoking panel discussion exploring the importance of reading in the modern age.
Thank you to all our fantastic panellists, and to Eckington School for their support. 💬📚

Then, on Saturday, we welcomed families to the barn for activities — from dressing up as favourite book characters to more arts, crafts and plenty of reading-inspired fun! 🧙‍♀️🦸‍♂️🎨

💛 Thank you to everyone who came along and supported our three Reading Festival events. Your support helps raise vital funds for Dronfield Heritage Trust, helping us care for our historic barn and continue supporting our local community.

And finally, a huge THANK YOU to our amazing volunteers who worked so hard behind the scenes to make the Reading Festival possible. We couldn't have done it without you! 👏🌟

📚✨ What a beautiful morning for our Reading Festival! ✨📚

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our Reading Panel last night. It was wonderful to see such great conversations, ideas and debates about the joy of reading! 📖💬

And now, it’s time for another fantastic day! 🎉 Our Reading Festival is open from 10am–3pm, so pop down and get involved.

🌿 Our beautiful gardens and courtyard are the perfect places to relax, pick up your favourite book and enjoy some peaceful reading time.

📚 We can’t wait to hear all about what you got up to over the summer and discover the stories you’ve been creating!

🧙‍♀️🦸‍♂️ And don’t forget to get creative and dress up as your favourite book character! See how many other characters you can spot around the Barn. 👀📚

💛 Our wonderful volunteers are ready and waiting to welcome you. We’re looking forward to another brilliant day celebrating books, stories and reading with you all!

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Another 5-Star Food Hygiene Rating! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Last Thursday we had one of those surprise visits… our food hygiene inspection! And we’re delighted to say we’ve achieved another 5⭐️ rating! 🎉

A huge thank you to our amazing team, who kept everything running while answering questions and supporting the inspectors — all during lunchtime service! 👏

And to our customers, a massive thank you for your patience and continued support. ❤️ If you were disappointed by a longer-than-usual wait for your food last Thursday, we really do appreciate your understanding.

These inspections are completely random and unannounced, so we never know when they’re going to happen — and unfortunately, this one arrived right in the middle of a busy lunch service! 😅

We’re incredibly proud of our team for maintaining our standards and achieving another 5⭐️ rating.

Well done, team — and thank you to all our wonderful customers for bearing with us! ❤️⭐️

Join us dressed up as your favourite book character for the Reading Festival at Dronfield Hall Barn. We have lots of reading-type activities for all ages beginning at 10am and running until 3pm. We would love you to share your favourite books or comics, try your hand at writing or drawing your summer holiday story, and enjoy lunch in the coffee shop

☕️ MEET THE TEAM WEDNESDAY 🌿

This week, we’d like to introduce you to Jackie👋

Jackie has been part of the Barn family on and off for quite some time, working across the coffee shop, weddings and all sorts of different events.

She brings plenty of stamina, a great sense of humour and, of course, fantastic coffee — now that she’s finally overcome her phobia of the coffee machine! 😂☕️

Have you visited us on a Thursday evening yet? If not, you really should! Jackie and the team are working hard to bring something a little different to the Barn and Dronfield. We’re staying open a little later so you can pop in enjoy a coffee at teatime and stay with us for your tea💛

From delicious grazing and sharing boards to fresh salads, with homemade soups and winter warmers coming soon, there’s plenty to enjoy.

Add in board games, our weekly quiz and lots of friendly faces, and Thursday evenings at the Barn are becoming a lovely place to unwind, catch up and enjoy something a little different. 🧀🥗🎲

This Thursday Evening we are bringing you an Indian themed Grazer.

Our slow cooked homemade Curry bowl teamed with the fabulous Bhaji Shops Samosas & Onion Bhaji 😋.

Or maybe, as its still so lovely and warm you may opt for the Feta, Orange and Beetroot salad?

Whether its a warm meal, a light bite, a coffee or a w**e, we are open until 8pm every Thursday evening and would love you to join us.
