The Ceylon Tavern restaurant, an authentic Asian cuisine in Dorking South Street, is recruiting responsible and reliable full-time experienced and passionate head chef to lead the team in this high profile restaurant in Dorking. We are undergoing a period of growth and are looking for career minded individuals with a passion for hospitality.
Working in a Head Chef capacity, the role will require a chef with strong leadership skills, familiarity with back of house systems, comfortable with a large volume operation along the creativity to run an established menu and introduce regular specials.
Person Specification:
The ideal head chef candidate will be from a quality, fresh food environment with experience of working within a structured or corporate business. As a head chef you must be able to demonstrate your ability to manage margin, control labour and work to company specifications in a busy environment as well as being a great motivator and passionate foodie who is able to train and develop your team.
Head Chef Role offers:
Solid ongoing contract work

Candidate requirements:
Minimum 3 years’ Sri Lankan and South Indian Chef experience required with a proven track record required.
Full responsibility in the running of the kitchen including hiring/firing, menu development, cost controls
Strong leadership and management skills
Ability to work under pressure
Flexibility in working hours and working role
Punctual and clean
Able to follow instructions with a positive attitude
Must have sound knowledge of health and safety as well as Hygiene and food safety.
Able to train and develop the team
A minimum commitment of 2 years is expected.
