Did you know that 4 out of 5 hospitality staff report having experienced mental health problems throughout their career? We are fully committed to making the hospitality industry more sustainable by focusing on our teams wellbeing first.
Since lockdown there’s been a huge shortage of hospitality staff, front and back of house and this is due to how they get treated by a very small percentage of the general public and the effect it has on them mentally.
Everyone who knows us, knows we will not tolerate any rudeness or abuse towards our team, we never have since we bought the station back in 2015 and never will.
When in a restaurant or a hotel, cafe and something isn’t quite right, the business would love to know, they’d love to rectify things and make you happy, hospitality is all about making people happy, that’s why we’re in the jobs we’re in, to make people happy.
Sometimes things can go wrong - we are all human.
There’s been chefs all over the world who resort to alcohol abuse, drug abuse and even su***de due to the criticism they receive after a 80 hour week…imagine that! Working 80 hours, giving your all, all that you can give, short staffed too so doing the work of 2/3 staff alone and on your day off being told how useless you are on review sites, imagine the impact.
Next time something isn’t quite right, speak to someone and let them rectify things rather than heading to review sites and not only attempting to destroy a business but also shaming hard working individuals who give everything into what they do every day.
If anything…be kind. 🙏
