Under the Greenwood Tree Café is an independent family business run by Dorchester-born Sarah Key and her daughter. It is located in the Hardy's Birthplace Visitor Centre on the edge of Thorncombe Wood Local Nature Reserve. Sarah is proud to only use free range eggs and source products as locally as possible. They home bake cakes, scones, meals and produce jams, chutneys and cordials. Sarah cooks as heathily as possible using rapeseed or olive oil and gluten free goodies are always available.

Why not visit us here at Hardy's Birthplace and Thorncombe Wood and do it all at the same time. Our way marked trail takes you through ancient woodland, open heathland, over a Roman Road, and back through the woodland to the visitors centre with facilities for dogs and humans.
