After a very, VERY busy summer, we’re giving our wonderful staff a well-deserved little break! ☀️

We’ll be closed Monday 21st & Tuesday 22nd September and back open as usual on Wednesday 23rd.

And while we’re taking a breather, we’ll also be putting the finishing touches on our NEW MENU 👀 Coming very soon… 🤭

🍳 Morning, Dorchester!

It's Wednesday, the market's on, and if you're heading into town, we'd argue there are worse ways to start the day than with this waiting for you.

Our sausages and bacon haven't exactly travelled far to get here, they come fresh from Quinn's Butchers Dorchester , approximately 60 seconds down the road. The bread comes fresh from the local bakery Dorset cake co too.

Then we add the eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes, hash browns, beans and all the other good stuff and suddenly that quick trip into town has turned into breakfast.

Funny how that happens.

We're here from 9am, with breakfast served until 11.45am. ☕

🍂 Summer might not be quite finished with us yet, but behind the scenes we’ve already got one eye firmly on autumn.

The colder mornings, the cosy lunches, the excuse for something warm and comforting... we’re very much ready for it.

Which is handy, because our new Autumn/Winter menu is now coming together.

There’ll be a few new additions, a few favourites sticking around and, naturally, a fair bit of tasting required along the way.

We’re keeping the rest under wraps for now.

Sometimes you've got to take a step back and appreciate the little things...

So, another shoutout to the lovely lot at Xscapes Landscape Design & Build for supplying and laying our new lawn back in the spring. Not only did they do a cracking job, they apparently supplied us with some of the most indestructible turf known to man.

After an absolutely brutal summer of heat, endless sunshine and hundreds of pairs of feet, we genuinely wondered if it would ever fully recover.
Fast forward a couple of weeks of slightly kinder weather and it's thick, ridiculously green and I've already had to cut it again. For the second time in a week.

Not bad, lawn. Not bad at all. 💪👌
