We are currently frying Ramos potatoes from Hopkins in Wroot. They are stunning so a big thanks to our local farmer for producing such a phenomenal tasty spud.

What a cracking start to 2026. We have just found out that we are once again one of the best Fish & Chips Shops in the UK after getting into the Fry Awards 50 Best Takeaways.

Our score on each visit was 99% (We lost 1% as we don't do delivery - yet!). And the comment from the visiting judges were equally impressive

"The fish was the best I have ever tasted. It was very succulent, soft and flaky, breaking up into big chunks of individual,
muscle segments. The batter locked in the fish's natural juices."

And a massive pat on the back from our team that bring their A Game every single service they do.

We are introducing a new species for you to try, its called Saithe. Its the nearest fish to Cod there is. It cooks almost as white (but not quite as snow white) as Cod and has a lovely meaty texture. It tastes lovely which is a bonus. The great news is we can buy it much cheaper than Cod which has sharply risen over the last 12 months. Its on the menu now as a 6oz Mini Fish, if there is demand we can also offer it as a Large 9oz Fish.
