We've noticed some traffic to the page recently and realised that it looks a bit like I ghosted you all and although I explained everything to the shops, I wanted to explain my disappearance to everyone else.
When I started the business in 2018 I had no idea what the next 4 years would bring my way. My plan was never to become a permanent frozen pizza seller as I didn't want to have a big factory full of staff, most of you know it was all me with help from my Wife running things and we loved that personal touch.
The frozen pizzas were to get my brand out there with the dream of having a following and opening a small diner/takeaway.
Everything was going really well and several factors brought my dream crashing down.
🍕 2020 gave us the "c" word which stopped the festivals and markets which brought in the profit (I made very little on the frozen pizzas).
🍕There was then a lot of drama surrounding our monthly market which kept us relevant and we had to withdraw, the replacement market unfortunately didn't have the power capacity we needed.
🍕 As we were recovering from these several things happened at the end of 2021/beginning of 2022 that burnt us out:
💔The house we were buying that had suitable space to expand the production of Green Pepper, fell through.
💔We suffered devastating losses in the family.
🏚️We were living in a very unsafe area and having a young Daughter meant that we had to take the opportunity to leave that house as soon as it presented itself - the house we moved into has a tiny galley kitchen which just doesn't have the space for Green Pepper, and we don't have the funds for major remodelling.
🍕We tried to stay relevant with markets, but honestly, we felt a little broken and without the frozen pizzas, sporadic markets weren't enough to keep up with the fast evolving vegan products.
🍕With no more profit for The Green Pepper the premises dreams were long gone and I had to search my soul for something different as I couldn't bear to stay working for the restaurant I was at.
🩺This has led me to retrain and I am starting veterinary nursing college very soon.
Whilst this is exciting for me it does mean that it is unlikely that I will be putting my Green Pepper apron back on any time soon.
I still have all my equipment in storage but I honestly don't know what the future holds.
Nothing could have predicted COVID and all the other factors that had a hand in the loss of my business (and dream). But hopefully you can understand why I/we disappeared.
TL:DR I had a pizza business, everyone loved it, but lots of stuff happened that meant it slowly came to an end.
