🎸🎵🎸THURSDAY MUSIC QUIZ 🎸🎵🎸

No Speed Quiz this Thursday evening, but we do have something a little different.

Mark will be taking over, with a bit of help from Hayden, for a Music Quiz with questions covering all sorts of genres and decades.

So if you fancy testing your musical knowledge, get a team together and join us from 7.30pm.

There’s a £50 bar tab up for grabs for the winning team, so plenty to play for.

Having just wandered down to the bottom of the garden, I’d like to thank whoever thought it would be a great idea to put the boot into the play area.

I appreciate it’s only a modest little area and not the all-singing, all-dancing play areas you see these days, but it’s still disappointing to find it in this condition.

Unfortunately, this isn’t the first bit of damage we’ve had recently. We’ve had damage to the marquee area, plants pulled out of the ground and the pool table has had to be re-covered on two occasions.

Having brought all three of my own children up in the pub, I’ve always tried to be fairly tolerant and understand that accidents happen. However, these incidents seem to be becoming more frequent and it is getting increasingly frustrating.

I’m going to assume this is down to children being left unsupervised rather than anything malicious, so I’d just ask parents to please keep an eye on their youngsters when they’re in the pub and garden.

We want the place to be somewhere everyone can enjoy, but that can only happen if everyone treats it with a bit of respect.

No food today at the pub 😞 but we are still open from 12 for drinks on this rainy day 🍻

Tomorrow we have Flindt’s Mexican food truck outside the pub from 12 serving the people of Gringley on car show day! Enjoy the cars 🚗 , come down to the pub to enjoy a drink 🍺 then enjoy some amazing Mexican food 🇲🇽 .

We’ve got a cracking weekend lined up at The Blue Bell.

Friday – Street Food Friday 🇮🇹🍻

We’re kicking the weekend off with Bedda Italian Street Food, who will be outside the pub serving up their fantastic Italian food from 5pm.

Good food, good beer and hopefully a bit of sunshine. Not a bad way to start the weekend.

Saturday – Test Match Cricket 🏏

No food available on Saturday as Kara is unavailable this weekend, but the pub will be open as normal and we’ll have the Test Match on the TVs throughout the day.

If you’re a cricket fan, get yourself down, grab a pint and settle in for an afternoon of cricket.

It’ll also be one of your last chances to watch Sky Sports at the pub, as it will unfortunately be disappearing during June.

Sunday – Car & Flower Show 🚗🌺

Sunday sees the return of the village Car & Flower Show, always one of the highlights of the local calendar.

We’ll be running a bar at the show throughout the day and the pub will be open as normal as well.

There won’t be any Sunday lunches this week, but Flindt’s will be outside the pub serving food, so there’ll still be plenty to eat while you’re in the pub.

With great food, live cricket, classic cars, flowers and plenty of beer, there’s plenty going on this weekend. We look forward to seeing you.

We’ve got another action-packed Speed Quiz for you this evening with Simon.

Expect plenty of fast-paced questions covering a wide range of topics, decades and genres. Grab yourself a team, or go solo if you fancy the challenge, and compete for the bar tab prize.

If that isn’t enough, we’ll be rounding off the evening with a game of Music Bingo afterwards.

A great way to spend a Thursday night because, let’s be honest, the weekend starts on a Thursday, doesn’t it?
