Our Independence Day Tap Takeover! has officially landed!

We’ve got beers pouring from Allagash, Sierra Nevada and Fidens, plus one of the rarest Bourbon County line-ups we’ve ever managed to get our hands on. All six Bourbon County bottles are now on sale (strictly one of each per person while stocks last).

And for today only, we’re also serving Allagash White – Mimosa Style 🍊🍺

A pint of Allagash White, fresh orange juice and Hop Butcher for the World hop water… ridiculously refreshing and the perfect way to celebrate Independence Day!

This Saturday we’re celebrating US Independence Day with an all-day USA Tap Takeover, featuring beers from Fidens Brewing Company Sierra Nevada and Allagash!

As if that wasn’t enough…

Well tomorrow’s forecast is… 🥵😔

It’s hot. Very hot.

Our cellar is struggling, because it’s hot.
Our coffee machine has spectacularly imploded, because it’s hot.
Our glasswasher has burnt itself out, probably because it’s hot.
Luke has also stopped functioning, definitely because it’s hot 🔥

With all of the above (and no air conditioning (yet 👀), we’ve made the decision to close all day tomorrow. As much as we’d love to be serving pints, it simply isn’t practical, or safe, for our team to be working in those conditions. Our apologies!

We’ll be back as normal from 9am Saturday, hopefully with slightly cooler temperatures, a happier team and machinery that’s remembered how to do its job 🤦‍♂️

One final thing… if you spot us wandering around the platform tomorrow (you probably will), please don’t ask us for a beer. The answer is still no 😂

Happy Father’s Day🍻

For many of us, our first pint was with our dad. Maybe it was a tepid lager in a quiet pub. Maybe we hated every sip. Maybe we spent years pretending to like beer before we actually did 👀

Today we’re raising a beer to all the dads, stepdads, grandads and father figures who introduced us to pubs and pints.

We’re also thinking of the ones who can’t be with us anymore 😔

The man in the first photo is Barry Thompson, The Draughtsman himself. The inspiration behind our name and a much-loved dad, whose memory still lives on every day within these very walls. The second photo is a reminder of what today is really about. Not necessarily the beer, but who you’re sharing it with 🍻

So whether you’re lucky enough to be having a pint with your dad today, giving him a call, raising a glass in his memory, or simply remembering the moments you shared, we hope you’ll join us in a toast 🫡

Here’s to the dads who taught us how to drink a pint, and the ones we’d give anything to share just one more with🍻

🚂 A Day with a Legend…

Today, Russ, Bryn and Luke had the privilege of attending the Doncaster Site Celebration Event at Wabtec, marking 150 years since the birth of Sir Nigel Gresley – one of the most influential railway engineers in British history.

We got up close with not one, but two railway legends as Sir Nigel Gresley and Flying Scotsman stood side by side in Doncaster. It was a brilliant reminder of the railway heritage that surrounds us every day here in Doncaster.

Meanwhile, the rest of the team were hard at work keeping the pints flowing in the heat!🍻☀️
