Hi again ,

Just a little update for you all, we have now replaced the windows at the restaurant and installed shutters . Shouldn’t really have to come to this but this is the life 😔

We’d like to thank everyone who came to see us last week , to walk into a fully boarded up restaurant really showed the loving nature of our friends and meant a lot to the family. The support we had from people all over social media was really touching as well as the messages and numerous phone calls, it’s much appreciated ❤️

Business as usual this week and just the sign to replace now.

Hi everyone ,

Just an update to you all that we are still OPEN AS USUAL .

Unfortunately, last night some absolute low life decided to smash each of our front windows .

Whilst it saddens us to see our baby in this state we are all still raring to go and look forward to seeing you all .

We do apologise to everyone who will be dining with us in the next couple of days who have to bare witness to the eye-sore whilst we get this sorted out .

It’s been all hands on deck this morning , even Nonna Maria has come in to help clean all of the glass . She’s currently on the phone to some relatives in Sicily …

Evening everyone,

With Christmas around the corner and enquiries being made we thought it would be the time to update you on our opening hours over the festive period!

Due to an increase in early dining on Saturdays, we have now decided to open the restaurant an hour early (4pm
New Opening time) on Saturdays throughout December commencing from Saturday 6th December.

Our diary is filling up but we still have certain availability left for Christmas parties with colleages or family parties with friends for the festive season !

Many customers ask where the name Zammuto came from .
It was born in a small town in Sicily called Aragona in 1865 .
The story goes that a man was marrying a lady and when it came to filling the marriage certificate the registrar misheard and wrote Zammuto. The man being quite shy said nothing and at that moment the Zammuto name was born.
Because Aragona was a poor town in the early 20th century many Aragonese emigrated. America was probably the most popular destination. One young boy named Giuseppe (Joe) Zammuto left home at 17 years old and ended up in Chicago. Joe went on to be the head of the Rockford Cosa nostra crime family and was a good friend of Al Capone amongst other infamous Godfathers . Even the Dr pepper bottling plant belonged to his family.
Salvatore Zammuto my father left home at 14 in 1957 and eventually ended up in Doncaster working for Rockware glass . He was involved in a merger between Rockware and Sicilvetro in Marsala Sicily. He went to work there once the factory was opened in 1976. Unfortunately the factory was burned down a month later. The rumour was the local mafia made them an offer they shouldn't have refused 🥴.
We also have footballing skills with Zammuto blood. Enzo Scifo also from Aragona and my second cousin went on to play for inter Milan and Belgium for many years.
Zammuto steak house was born in November 1998 and has three generations of family working there . We like to think of ourselves as the ryanair of steak house where you get an incredible product at an incredible price. And remember when you come to dine at zammutos you are dining at the only one in the world 😊
