The first ones are the hardest
When a loved ones, no longer here
Those little heartbreaking reminders
Eyes welling up, then shedding a tear.
An empty chair or unfinished book
A message left unread
That voice you try and remember
And too many words, left unsaid.
A smile or a cheeky grin
Or even a heated debate
Did they know? How much you loved them.
Or did you? leave it too late.
Never! waste your life
Worrying, about trivial things
Live, for every moment
And enjoy, whatever it brings.
If ever, you've suffered loss
Family members, no longer there
Remember them, deep in your heart
As you look, at that empty chair.
A Nanna, Grandad or Mum
Dad, Husband or wife
Friends and extended family
Be glad you shared, their life.
Love them, when their here
Remember them, when their gone
Do not, waste your life!
As We are given only one.
