Meet Troy, one of our four-legged regulars! We thought you might like to have a guess at his breed.

Troy has kindly given us permission to share one little detail about him: he weighs a whopping 79kg! The photos don’t quite show just how big this lovely boy is.

He’s also very kindly donated two lovely big water bowls for our visiting dogs. The old one was more of a shot glass for Troy!

We welcome all dogs at Café BLANC, and Troy is always a very welcome visitor. Pop your breed guesses in the comments!

Hello October 🎃👻

September really was a month of two halves for us. We faced the upset of being broken into, then went straight into our busiest week since opening our doors in January.

A huge shout out to our amazing Café BLANC team. You stepped up, supported one another and kept giving our customers the warm welcome and lovely service you know and love. I’m so proud of you all.

And thank you to every customer who visited, shared a kind word or showed us support along the way. It’s meant more than you know.

We’re starting October feeling grateful, proud and excited for what’s ahead. Here’s to a fresh month and lots more lovely moments at Café BLANC

At Café BLANC, we don't charge extra for alternative milk.

We know that for some people, choosing an alternative to dairy isn't simply a preference, it's a dietary requirement.

Where we reasonably can, we try to absorb those additional costs ourselves rather than automatically passing them on to you.

We can't always do this with every product or dietary alternative, but where we can make things a little fairer, we will.

It's just one of the little things that matters to us at Café BLANC.

Inside, it's turning into something Derby hasn't seen before: a British country house with a proper bar in it. Dark green, leather, warm light, the works. That's us. Take Aim. But the first look doesn't go to the press or the influencers. It goes to whoever's on the list on Saturday 10 October, when we open the doors for one night for The English Harvest: a free English w**e tasting with British boards, live music, and a vote that decides our opening w**e list.

I just want to say, again, thank you, from me and every single person on the Café BLANC team.

This weekend was our best weekend since we opened our doors back in January. After such a difficult few weeks, seeing so many of you come in, say hello and show your support has meant more to us than I can put into words.

Every visit, every like, every share and every kind message has helped us keep going. And to those of you cheering us on from outside Derby, we see you too. Thank you for caring about our little coffee shop and the people behind it.

It’s Monday, and we’re looking forward to putting the last three weeks behind us and doing what we do best: welcoming you in, making your coffee and sharing snacks and sweet treats you love.

Thank you for being there for us. We really do appreciate every single one of you.

We just want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who came into Café BLANC today.

After three break-ins in one month, it’s been a really tough time for us. But today, every person who walked through our door made a difference. Whether you bought a coffee, popped in for cake, wished us well or simply stopped to say you’d seen our post, your kindness meant more than you probably realise.

We’ve also had the pleasure of welcoming so many new customers because people shared our story on Facebook. Thank you for taking the time to support us and for helping others find us.

We’re a small coffee shop with a team who care deeply about what we do. Today reminded us just how much it means to have people behind us.

A little update from Café BLANC.

We’re sorry for any inconvenience caused while we secured the premises this morning. Everything is now secure and we’re open as normal.
