We see posts every day like this so please support your pubs they really are a vital part of any community
Another publican. Another set of jobs lost. Another community asset pushed to the brink
Behind every pub closure is a landlord or landlady who has poured everything they have into their business, staff who suddenly find themselves without work, suppliers who lose a customer, and a community that loses part of its social fabric.
The saddest part is that this isn’t a story about a pub that was empty. It isn’t a story about a publican who didn’t care. It’s a story about a business that was trading, serving customers and doing everything it could to survive, but was ultimately overwhelmed by soaring costs.
No landlord should have to sit their team down and tell them their jobs are ending because the numbers simply no longer add up.
Supporting live music bands or raising money for charities all makes a difference
And to those in Government who continue to underestimate the scale of this crisis, please understand that behind every closure statistic is a real person having one of the worst weeks of their life.
This has to stop.
