Dear Loyal Customers

It is with a very heavy heart that from today we will be closing the doors of The Squashed Tomato and saying “farewell”.

As with so many other small businesses, Covid has taken it’s toll and makes us unable to keep the cafe running.

It is so sad for us and we know that it will make many of our truly loyal and lovely customers so sad too.

On a positive note, we would like to say the biggest, heartfelt thank you to all the people that came through our door; the regulars, the every “now and againers” and those just passing through. In the four years that we’ve been open, we have met so many lovely people who have made it a real pleasure to come to work.

So many lovely comments and conversations over the years. We are so grateful for all of your support and patronage. It goes without saying, we will miss you all a lot!

We want to wish you all a much better year and very good health.

We were looking forward to opening up again today. However, unfortunately due to the current rate of cases, we have a member of staff self isolating, which means we now unable to open until next Tuesday (possibly Wednesday). We are so disappointed for us and for you. As a small team this makes it very difficult, but we will do our best to open next week. We simply won’t take any risks and will make sure PCR tests are negative before reopening. Watch this space for further information.🍅

Varied duties-service, food preparation, front of house. Barista and kitchen experience helpful, but not essential. Full training would be given to the right candidate. Competitive rates of pay.

Dear customers we are having a little break over half term! The cafe will be closed 26-29th October (inclusive) we will be open on Saturday 30th October and look forward to seeing you from then.

We want our customers to feel safe and comfortable when you come to visit us. We still have the safety screens up, our tables are still socially distanced, our staff are wearing face shields and we as always we have our high standards of cleaning. We look forward to welcoming you soon 🍅
