Colombo Street started trading as a street food business in 2018 at various outdoor events in the Midlands and were thrilled to be able to leave an ever-lasting impression of Sri Lankan food. Our growing loyal customer base and success as the finalists of British Street Food Awards in 2020 and 2021, inspired us to take the next steps to open a restaurant with an expanded menu. We strive to bring amazing authentic flavours and warm Sri Lankan hospitality to the heart of Nottingham.

After an incredible journey since 2018, we’ve decided it’s time to take a step back.

From being named Sri Lankan Restaurant of the Year, to serving over 100,000 Kottus across the UK’s biggest events, this has been a journey full of ups, downs, and unforgettable memories. None of it would have been possible without the support of our amazing teams over the years, customers, event organisers and community- we’re so grateful for every single one of you 🙏

While it’s unfortunate to have to take a step back from the Derby Market Hall outlet and the catering trucks; we still believe Colombo Street has so much potential to continue to take this amazing cuisine to the rest of the world. If anyone is interested in taking the brand forward and growing it further, please DM us 💌
