The celebration of Eid-ul-Adha is to commemorate Prophet Ibrahim’s devotion to Allah SWT and his readiness to sacrifice his son, Ismail. At the very point of sacrifice, Allah SWT replaced Ismail with a ram, which was to be slaughtered in place of his son. This command from Allah SWT was a test of Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness and commitment to obey his Lord’s command, without question. Therefore, Eid-ul-Adha means the festival of sacrifice.

Depending on the country, the celebrations of Eid-ul-Adha can last anywhere between two and four days. The act of Qurbani (sacrifice) is carried out following the Eid Salaah (Eid Prayers), which are performed in congregation at the nearest Mosque on the morning of Eid.

The act of Qurbani consists of slaughtering an animal as a sacrifice to mark this occasion in remembrance of Prophet Ibrahim’s sacrifice for Allah SWT. This is also known as Udhiya. The days of animal sacrifice total three days, from the 10th to the 12th of Dhu-al-Hijjah.

The sacrificial animal must be a sheep, lamb, goat, cow, bull or a camel; the sheep, lamb or goat consist of one Qurbani share, whereas a bull, cow or camel consist of seven shares per animal. The animal must be in good health and over a certain age in order to be slaughtered, in a “halal” friendly, Islamic way.

The Qurbani meat can then divided into three equal portions per share; one-third is for you and your family, one-third is for friends, and the final third is to be donated to those in need.

Traditionally, the day is spent celebrating with family, friends and loved ones, often wearing new or best attire and the giving of gifts.

IMPORTANT NOTICE!!!- What is Eid-Ul-Fitr? Muslims have almost
reached the end of Ramadan, and can soon look forward to
breaking their fast and celebrating Eid al-Fitr. So it is fitting that Muslims celebrate reaching the end of the month by
feasting with family. Eid al-Fitr marks the end of Ramadan. It was originated by
the Prophet Muhammad, and is one of two global festivals celebrated by Muslims every year, the other being Eid al-
Adha. Eid al-Fitr is celebrated for one to three days, depending on
the country. Fasting is forbidden on the Day of Eid, in contrast to the 30 days that came before. The festival's name comes from an Arabic term which translates as the "feast of breaking the fast" and, although
not usually a public holiday in the UK (unless, like this year, it falls on a bank holiday as of this year it is!), it is for many
Muslim countries. Eid al-Fitr traditionally begins the day after the sighting of the new crescent moon which marks the end
of Ramadan and the onset of the month of Shawwal, the tenth of the Islamic Hijri calendar. Traditionally, the day is spent celebrating with family, friends
and loved ones, often wearing new or best attire and the giving of gifts.

The Iftar Special- This milkshake is made with fresh dates from the lands of Saudi Arabia mixed with a blend of fruit to pinch those tastebuds. It just hits the spot right after Iftar😍 This shake may seem like something different but it’s one to sin for, The combination of dates and milk is highly nutritious hence this iftar special milkshake gives so many health benefits to kids as well as elders, it’s just WOW. This creamy thick shake can be drunk during the fasting period because milk and dates together give a high amount of energy to our body during fasting/upwas/Vrat. We will still be operating to normal times as usual 5pm-11pm every night and will be updating you if there are any changes!💚

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. The exact dates of Ramadan change every year. This is because Islam uses a calendar based on the cycles of the Moon.

In Islam, fasting is a pivotal practice for followers of the religion.

Fasting symbolises one of the five pillars that constitute the main belief and actions of a practicing Muslim.

Ramadan is a month of fasting, prayer, reflection and community, for Muslims, as they work to feel closer to God on the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. Most Muslims fast between dawn and sunset. Fasting allows Muslims to devote themselves to their faith. It is thought to teach self-discipline and reminds them of the suffering of the poor.

Almost all Muslims try to give up bad habits during Ramadan. It is a time for prayer and good deeds. They will try to spend time with family and friends and help people in need.

Many Muslims will attempt to read the whole of the Qur'an at least once during Ramadan. They will also attend special services in Mosques during which the Qur'an is read.
