About the Company

The ‘Jerk Co’ story is born out of ancient history when in the 1700’s African slaves escaped Spanish captors and hid in the Blue Mountains of Jamaica, where they were later known as Maroons. As food was in short supply for these people, they soon developed ways of preserving meat with spices, salt, and fresh peppers. The meat was then wrapped in leaves and kept until cooked with

a live flame on wooden barbeques. Over the years this technique has been developed; Today ‘Jerk Co’ have been working tirelessly to bring this wonderful cooking technique to the wider food audience in a fast food environment. The Richards family, founders of ‘Jerk Co’, have chosen the city of Derby to Launch their first, fast food, Jerk Chicken outlet. The company slogan is ‘Love Jerk Chicken, love the vibe’
We have invested in the latest barbecues, grills, and state of the art smokers to ensure all the flavours are preserved in each piece of chicken served by our fully trained, friendly staff. Jerk Co are committed to bringing a positive vibe to this great, traditional, food technique by making it not just a meal but an experience!!!!!!!!!!!!
